LivSmart Studios by Hilton is planned for Abilene, bringing 121 guest rooms designed for longer stays to 2219 Scottish Road. The four-story hotel would add an apartment-style lodging option where guests can unpack, cook dinner and settle into a routine.
A Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing lists an estimated construction cost of $5 million for the 59,964-square-foot building. Work is scheduled to begin December 1, 2026, and finish September 30, 2027. Those are construction dates; an opening date has not been announced.
What LivSmart Studios brings to Abilene
LivSmart Studios focuses on travelers who need a place for weeks or months. Hilton’s overview describes studio-style suites that combine sleeping, cooking and working areas, with storage and movable furniture that help guests make the space their own.
Hilton’s standard suite kitchens include a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, two-burner cooktop, sink and cookware. Guests can keep groceries on hand and prepare meals throughout their stay. The concept also includes guest laundry and fitness facilities. Abilene’s final room layouts and full amenity list have not been released.
LivSmart Studios and Hilton’s Abilene roots
Hilton opened the first location in Tullahoma, Tennessee, introducing a hotel concept built around longer visits. Hilton identifies traveling professionals, workers on extended assignments and relocating families among the guests these hotels are designed to serve.
For Abilene, the Hilton connection reaches much further back.
According to Visit Abilene’s downtown history tour, the building now known as The Windsor at 401 Pine Street was built in 1927 and leased by Conrad Hilton. It was the second hotel to bear his name. The property became the Windsor Hotel when Hilton’s lease ended in 1945.
The proposed LivSmart Studios project brings a different kind of hotel experience to a city that played a role in Hilton’s early growth nearly a century ago.
Plans for LivSmart Studios on Scottish Road
The state registration names MB Rentals LLC as the owner and Grapevine-based Type Six Design and Development as the design firm. The scope calls for new construction of the four-story, 121-room hotel.
Room rates and reservations are not yet available for the planned Abilene location. For future guests, the key attraction will be the combination of hotel services and a studio equipped for everyday living.
