The company’s official coming-soon list identifies a Salado location at FM 2484 and I-35. Local project coverage places the planned restaurant at 2317 Salado Center Loop, giving nearby diners a new arrival to anticipate.
Golden Chick Starts With the Tender
Golden Tenders have been part of the menu since 1985. According to the restaurant’s history, the preparation starts with whole chicken tenderloins, which the kitchen marinates, hand-batters, and cooks.

Howard and Jacque Walker opened the first Golden Fried Chicken in San Marcos in 1967. Howard was a World War II Navy veteran, and Jacque was a Southwest Texas State University graduate with strong local ties.

For Salado families, the attraction could be as simple as an easier evening meal. Pick a chicken style, add the sides, and gather around a dinner that does not require firing up the kitchen at home.

When Will the Salado Restaurant Open?
