A Walmart serving one of Frisco’s busiest growing corridors is preparing for a substantial refresh.
A new state construction filing shows Walmart Supercenter #2463 at 355 Stonebrook Parkway is scheduled for a $1.3 million interior and exterior remodel beginning next spring.
The project covers approximately 22,500 square feet of the existing 186,020-square-foot store. Construction is currently scheduled to begin March 7, 2027, with completion targeted for July 22, 2027.
While the filing doesn’t reveal exactly which departments will change, the investment represents a much larger project than another recent upgrade completed at the same Frisco store.
A Much Bigger Walmart Remodel
This isn’t the first construction activity recently filed for the Stonebrook Parkway Walmart.
A separate project completed at the store involved approximately $400,000 in improvements, including the installation of a tortilla maker and warmer in the grocery and deli area. The newly filed remodel is different.
At 22,500 square feet, the planned work encompasses roughly 12% of the massive Supercenter and includes changes to both the interior and exterior.
Exactly what customers will see remains unclear. The state filing describes the scope simply as an “Interior and Exterior Remodel,” without identifying specific departments, entrances or other improvements.
Still, Walmart has been pouring money into updating existing stores across the country.
Walmart Has Been Modernizing Its Stores
Walmart announced a major investment strategy in 2024 that included plans to remodel 650 stores across the United States over a 12-month period.

However, Walmart has not publicly detailed which of those features, if any, will be included in the Stonebrook Parkway project.
For now, the confirmed scope is limited to the $1.3 million interior and exterior renovation identified in the new filing.
The Store Sits at a Busy Frisco Intersection
The location of the investment also stands out.
Walmart sits just off Stonebrook Parkway near FM 423, an intersection Frisco previously identified among seven high-volume intersections targeted for additional capacity.
The city recently completed improvements there that included second left-turn lanes on Stonebrook Parkway in both directions, additional right-turn capacity, a new westbound U-turn and traffic signal improvements. City of Frisco intersection improvement project
Those improvements were designed to increase capacity and improve traffic flow through an increasingly busy portion of western Frisco.
And investment along Stonebrook isn’t stopping there.
Frisco has also been working on improvements farther west involving Legacy Drive and Stonebrook Parkway as the city’s transportation network continues adapting to growth.
None of those roadway projects are directly tied to Walmart’s remodel. However, they illustrate how much the surrounding corridor has changed since the Supercenter was originally developed.
Walmart Already Has a Large Frisco Presence
The Stonebrook Parkway location is one of several Walmart stores serving Frisco.

That makes the upcoming project less about bringing something entirely new to Frisco and more about updating a large existing store as the surrounding area continues to mature.
Construction Planned for 2027
If the current schedule holds, work on the $1.3 million Walmart remodel will begin March 7 and continue through July 22, 2027.
The construction filing does not indicate that the store will close during the renovation, and no temporary closure has been announced.
More detailed plans could eventually reveal exactly what Walmart intends to change inside the 22,500-square-foot project area.
For now, one thing is clear:
After smaller upgrades at the property and major transportation improvements around its busy Stonebrook Parkway corridor, Frisco’s Walmart #2463 is next in line for a much bigger refresh.
