Fifth Third Bank Georgetown plans point to a new branch near a familiar shopping destination: Costco on North I-35. The proposed location at Lot 5, 2201 I-35 brings the bank’s Texas expansion into a setting already known to local shoppers.
For residents, the interest goes beyond another building. Fifth Third is growing its Texas presence through both new locations and the integration of Comerica. The Georgetown proposal offers a local look at that larger change in the state’s banking landscape.
Fifth Third Bank Georgetown Has a Costco Connection
Costco’s official Georgetown warehouse page lists 2201A N. IH 35. The bank’s project filing uses the same base address and names Costco Wholesale Corporation as the property owner. Together, those details point to the Costco property as the setting for the proposed branch.
The project describes a new bank building on Lot 5. It does not describe a banking counter inside the warehouse. A verified site plan showing the precise lot placement has not surfaced, so the address provides the clearest location reference for now.
That setting gives Georgetown readers a useful landmark. A bank near an established shopping destination can fit into the same trip as other errands. The proposal adds a financial-service use to a property residents already associate with retail.
A Bigger Texas Presence Takes Shape
In its September 8 company announcement, Fifth Third reported 107 financial centers in Texas. It also outlined plans to invest nearly $1 billion in the state over five years, including 150 new financial centers by 2029.
The same announcement confirmed completion of Comerica’s technology and brand conversion over Labor Day weekend. That followed the companies’ February 2026 merger. Customers moved onto Fifth Third’s systems, bringing the two businesses under one brand.
The Georgetown proposal fits the direction of that expansion, although the statewide announcement does not identify this particular site. It shows how a large corporate growth plan can become a much smaller, local question: where will the next branch be?

What Fifth Third Offers Customers
The bank’s official website lists checking and savings accounts, credit cards, home lending and online and mobile banking. Its business offerings include checking, cash management and merchant services. Those categories serve different needs, from a household’s routine payments to a business owner’s daily operations.
A physical branch adds a place for face-to-face questions alongside digital tools. Someone comparing account options or discussing a borrowing need may want a conversation rather than another screen. Specific staffing, hours and services for the Georgetown location have not been announced.
Fifth Third traces its history to 1858. That makes the planned Georgetown location a new local chapter for a long-established institution. Its growing Texas network combines that history with a push to reach more customers in the state.
Texas Construction Media has also covered the bank’s planned Creekside branch in Arlington. Together, the projects offer examples of the bank’s proposed new construction in different Texas markets. Visit our Arlington coverage for more development stories there.
Fifth Third Bank Georgetown Project Details
The state registration lists a 2,400-square-foot new building with an estimated $2 million construction cost. The projected work schedule runs from January 20 through August 11, 2027. These dates describe construction estimates, not a confirmed opening day.
The filing calls the project “Red Poppy,” but that label does not establish an official shopping-center name. For now, the strongest local connection remains the Costco-area address and another planned option for in-person banking in Georgetown.
