Cypress is getting another chicken restaurant, and this one is moving into a newly developed property along Barker Cypress Road.
Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders is preparing to open at 11430 Barker Cypress Road, Suite 200, in Cypress.
Plans call for approximately $350,000 in construction on the 2,444-square-foot restaurant. The interior buildout will include a commercial kitchen, new finishes, restrooms and seating for 34 guests.
Construction is scheduled to begin September 1, 2026, with completion currently targeted for November.
Huey Magoo’s Heads to Barker Cypress Road
The new restaurant will occupy a first-generation space at the Barker Cypress Retail Center, according to project filings.
And Cypress residents may already recognize the address.
The property at 11430 Barker Cypress Road is also home to a new Tim Hortons, which recently opened at the site. Tim Hortons now lists the Cypress restaurant among its Houston-area locations.
There’s also a direct connection between the two projects.
When construction plans for the Tim Hortons property were filed in 2024, the project included the new quick-service restaurant along with additional shell space. Both that project and the upcoming Huey Magoo’s location list LFF Barker Cypress LLC as the property owner.
Now, Huey Magoo’s is preparing to build out Suite 200 at that same address.
What Is Huey Magoo’s?
Huey Magoo’s got its start in Orlando, Florida, in 2004 and has built its concept around one thing: chicken tenders.
The restaurant serves both hand-breaded and grilled chicken tenders, with the grilled version marinated for 24 hours. The brand says it uses chicken tenderloin for its tenders.
Customers can order tenders as traditional meals or find them in sandwiches, wraps and salads, along with a variety of dipping sauces.
The chain has also been expanding its footprint, with Texas currently listed by Huey Magoo’s as one of its markets in development.
Another New Restaurant for Cypress
The Barker Cypress corridor continues to attract new restaurant development, and this particular property is quickly filling in.
Tim Hortons has already opened at the address. Now, Huey Magoo’s is preparing to follow with its own restaurant in Suite 200.
An exact opening date has not been announced. However, with construction currently scheduled for completion in November, Cypress residents could see work on the new restaurant moving quickly this fall.
Bottom line — Cypress is getting another chicken option. Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders is officially on the way to Barker Cypress Road.
