Shark Tank’s Crispy Cones Brings a Sweet First to San Antonio

A warm pastry cone. A swirl of cold soft serve. A dessert that makes the cone just as tempting as the ice cream. Crispy Cones San Antonio plans bring that combination to Northwoods for the Shark Tank-backed brand’s first San Antonio-area shop.

The planned location at 18130 San Pedro Avenue, Suite 100 gives North San Antonio a new dessert stop to anticipate. Its signature treat starts with fresh dough and a rotisserie grill, then builds toward a generous swirl of soft serve, spreads, sauces and toppings.

What Makes a Crispy Cone Different?

The cone is part of the main event. As Crispy Cones explains its signature dessert, fresh dough is grilled rotisserie-style and coated with cinnamon and sugar or a specialty powder. That creates a warm pastry shell ready for the cold filling.

The process draws inspiration from Europe’s chimney-cake and trdelník tradition. Dough wraps around a form and turns as it cooks, creating the hollow pastry that gives the dessert its shape. Here, that European-inspired pastry becomes the foundation for a soft-serve creation.

Customers build on that foundation with a spread, soft serve and finishing touches such as fruit, sauces and other toppings. The appeal is the contrast: warm dough around the outside, cold ice cream in the center and different textures in each bite.

For anyone who usually thinks of a cone as something to hold the ice cream, this flips the experience. The pastry earns its own share of the attention, right down to the last bite.

From Shark Tank to a San Antonio Debut

Founders Jeremy and Kaitlyn Carlson introduced the concept to a national audience on ABC’s Shark Tank. The company’s account of its television appearance describes their decision to apply for the show’s 14th season and the opportunity to pitch in front of the Sharks.

That television exposure became a recognizable part of the brand as Crispy Cones continued expanding through franchising. For first-time customers, that familiar television connection offers an introduction. The warm pastry cone gives them a reason to take a closer look.

The Crispy Cones San Antonio project brings that growth story to a new local market. The company’s current location directory does not list an existing San Antonio shop, and the Northwoods plans mark its first San Antonio-area location.

Crispy Cones San Antonio Finds a Home at Northwoods

Northwoods sits near the U.S. 281 and Loop 1604 interchange, placing the planned shop within an established North San Antonio shopping area. For residents who already use the center for errands or a meal, the new dessert concept adds another reason to make a stop.

The aerial helps place Northwoods within the larger interchange area. It shows the surrounding retail and nearby neighborhoods, giving readers a sense of where the shop fits without suggesting a final storefront design.

Plans call for a 1,233-square-foot tenant finish-out with a registered construction value of $100,000. Work is currently scheduled from October 2026 through February 2027. That is the construction schedule; it is not an announced opening date.

For San Antonio dessert fans, the draw is easy to picture: a freshly grilled pastry cone filled with cold soft serve, with room to make it your own. Northwoods is the planned first local stop for that combination.
