One of Hutto’s largest upcoming construction projects is taking shape along Innovation Boulevard, where plans call for a new $280 million data center.
A newly registered Texas construction filing identifies the project as Colovore Hutto, located at 2401 Innovation Boulevard in Hutto. Plans call for construction of a one-story, 192,694-square-foot data center with an administrative area and screened equipment yard.
Construction is currently scheduled to begin December 1, 2026, with completion targeted for December 2028.
Colovore is bringing its AUS01 data center to Hutto
The project lines up with Colovore’s planned AUS01 facility, which the company identifies as its Hutto location within the Austin market.
Colovore plans to develop 40 megawatts of capacity at the Hutto facility. The campus is designed with five data halls, each providing 8 megawatts of capacity.
Unlike a traditional office or warehouse development, this facility is being built around the rapidly growing demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Colovore specializes in high-density, liquid-cooled data centers designed to support powerful computing equipment. The company says its infrastructure can accommodate everything from traditional enterprise technology to next-generation AI accelerators and GPU clusters.
The Hutto facility is currently being marketed for pre-leasing for 2026 and 2027.
Hutto continues attracting major technology investment
The project also adds another major technology development to an area of Hutto already positioned for employment and industrial growth.
Hutto has spent years developing its Innovation Business Park and targeting industries including semiconductor manufacturing, advanced manufacturing and applied technology. The city’s Hutto SOAR 2040 comprehensive plan also specifically recommends adding data centers to its targeted industries.
At the same time, the rapid arrival of data centers has become a larger planning issue for the community.
In August 2026, the City of Hutto requested proposals for a comprehensive Data Center Sound Study. The study will evaluate potential noise generated by modern data centers and cooling systems while examining how those facilities interact with nearby residential development.
The study is not specifically tied to the Colovore project, but it highlights how significant data center development has become as Hutto continues to grow.
For Colovore, Hutto will become part of a growing national network of high-density computing facilities. The company is also developing additional locations in markets including Dallas, Chicago and Reno while operating existing infrastructure in Silicon Valley.
With an estimated construction cost of $280 million and nearly 193,000 square feet of space, the Hutto project represents another major investment heading to the Innovation Boulevard corridor.
