The proposed construction schedule runs from December 1, 2026, through February 21, 2028. The completion date is a construction target, not a confirmed store opening.

For longtime residents, the address carries memories of live music and nights at Billy’s Ice. The property had a life as a convenience store before becoming the music venue, according to CultureMap’s reporting on its closure.
Billy’s closed at the Loop 337 location in October 2025 following the property’s sale. The business later opened as Bobby’s Ice at 6390 FM 1102 on November 20, Community Impact reported. The new pawn-store filing points to the next proposed use for its former address.
A new building for First Cash Pawn in New Braunfels
The scope describes new construction using concrete masonry units and a steel structure. It calls for a freestanding building rather than an interior remodel of the former venue.
Pawn TX Inc. is listed as the owner, and Acuform Architecture of San Antonio is the design firm. Acuform’s portfolio includes a separate Cash America Pawn project in San Antonio, where the firm used concrete masonry walls as part of a secure retail design. That portfolio project is not a rendering of this New Braunfels proposal.
What shoppers find at First Cash Pawn
FirstCash’s retail pawn business combines buying and selling merchandise with loans secured by personal property. Its stores carry categories such as jewelry, electronics, tools, musical instruments and sporting goods. The mix depends on what each location takes in.
The merchandise mix at the planned First Cash Pawn in New Braunfels has not been announced. Across the company’s stores, changing inventory can turn a shopping trip into a search for gaming equipment, a guitar or tools.
An existing connection to New Braunfels
FirstCash already has a local connection through its Cash America brand. In March 2026, Community Impact reported that Comal Pawn became Cash America Pawn at 1105 W. San Antonio Street following a change in ownership.
The new filing does not establish whether the Loop 337 project will be an additional store or a relocation. It should not be read as an announcement that the San Antonio Street location is closing.
For now, the proposed First Cash Pawn in New Braunfels identifies a new retail use for the old Billy’s Ice property. The privately funded project is registered as TABS2027001013; registration alone does not confirm that construction has begun.
