Converse is getting another popular sandwich option.
Jersey Mike’s is preparing to open its first Converse location at 4211 E. Loop 1604 North, Suite 102.
Plans call for approximately $415,000 in construction work on the 1,463-square-foot restaurant. Work is scheduled to begin September 1, 2026, with completion currently targeted for November 15.
And Jersey Mike’s won’t be the only new name joining this growing stretch of Loop 1604.
Jersey Mike’s Heads to Converse
The new restaurant will open inside a recently developed multi-tenant retail building along Loop 1604.
The location sits directly across from H-E-B, putting Jersey Mike’s in the middle of an increasingly busy commercial area.
The surrounding property already includes several businesses, while additional tenants continue filling the new retail building.
For Converse residents, however, Jersey Mike’s will bring something new.
This appears to be the sandwich chain’s first location inside Converse itself.
From the Jersey Shore to Thousands of Restaurants
Jersey Mike’s traces its roots back to 1956, when the original sandwich shop opened in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.
The company later grew well beyond the Jersey Shore and became one of the largest sandwich chains in the country.
A big part of the concept remains surprisingly simple: fresh-sliced meats and cheeses, bread baked in-store and subs made to order.
Cold sandwiches include longtime favorites such as the Original Italian, Turkey and Provolone, and Club Sub.
Meanwhile, the hot side of the menu includes cheesesteaks and grilled sandwiches such as the Big Kahuna Cheese Steak and Chipotle Cheese Steak.
And then there’s probably the phrase Jersey Mike’s fans know best:
Mike’s Way.
Ordering a sandwich that way adds onions, lettuce, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, olive oil and spices.
Wingstop Is Going Right Next Door
Jersey Mike’s also won’t be opening by itself.
A conceptual site plan for the development shows Wingstop immediately next door to the new sandwich shop.
The same retail building also includes Ideal Dental and additional commercial tenants.
That means the project is adding more than one new destination along this section of Loop 1604.
Across the highway, H-E-B already serves as a major traffic generator. Nearby businesses also include restaurants, medical services, automotive businesses and other retailers.
As a result, this corner of Converse continues to develop into a larger commercial hub.
More Growth Along Loop 1604
The Jersey Mike’s project may only occupy about 1,463 square feet, but it adds another recognizable national brand to Converse.
That matters in a rapidly developing suburban community where new restaurants and retail continue following residential growth.
And with Wingstop preparing to open right beside it, residents will soon have a couple more reasons to stop along this stretch of Loop 1604.
An official opening date for Jersey Mike’s has not been announced yet. However, the current construction schedule points toward completion in mid-November.
