MyCHN is expanding its Women & Children’s Health Center in Alvin, with a $500,000 renovation adding space to the existing clinic at 218 E. House Street.
The project covers approximately 10,000 square feet and will expand the health center into adjacent vacant shell space.
Construction records call for selective demolition followed by new interior construction. Work was scheduled to begin in July 2026 and is expected to wrap up in October.
Expansion Part of MyCHN’s 2026 Plans
The project lines up with a larger expansion effort already announced by Community Health Network.
In its 2025 Annual Report, MyCHN identified expansion and renovation of the Alvin Women & Children’s clinic as one of its strategic developments for 2026. The organization said the project will help increase access to pediatric and women’s health services.
The Alvin clinic currently provides several types of care for women, children and families. Services include women’s health and OB/GYN care, pediatrics, pediatric dental care, psychiatry and counseling. The location also has an on-site pharmacy.
Women’s health services include prenatal care, family planning and well-woman exams. Pediatric services include newborn and infant care, sick and well-child visits, immunizations and sports physicals.
MyCHN Has Deep Roots in Alvin
Community Health Network operates multiple facilities in Alvin, including the Women & Children’s center on House Street and its MyCHN Adoue location on West Adoue Street.
The organization has also invested in the Women & Children’s facility before. Previous improvements added office space and renovated portions of the clinic, while another project created a pharmacy at the location.
The latest $500,000 project represents another expansion of the House Street facility as MyCHN continues growing its healthcare services in Alvin.
According to the state construction filing, the project is currently listed as Review Complete, with completion scheduled for October 2026.
