A new multi million-dollar sports complex is planned in Alvin, with construction documents pointing to a connection with a longtime local volleyball organization.
Omni Sportsplex is planned for 2130 Clifford Street in Alvin, according to a Texas construction filing. The project calls for the new construction of an approximately 18,000-square-foot commercial sports complex with an estimated construction cost of $2.3 million.
Construction is currently listed to begin July 1, 2026, with completion scheduled for July 1, 2027.
Connection to Bay Area Volleyball Association
While the construction filing provides few details about what sports or amenities are planned inside Omni Sportsplex, the project’s ownership provides an important clue.
The filing identifies Jeffery A. Weber as the owner of Omni Sportsplex.
Weber is also associated with Bay Area Volleyball Association, an Alvin-based volleyball organization focused on athlete development, training and competitive volleyball.
Bay Area Volleyball Association’s website identifies Jeffery Weber as an organizational contact, while SportsEngine lists Jeff Weber as the association’s president. The phone number associated with Weber and BAVA matches the number listed for Weber as the owner of the Omni Sportsplex project in the state construction filing.
BAVA also has a history of operating within Alvin’s existing sports facilities. In 2022, the organization held volleyball tryouts at Upside SportsPlex on Fox Meadow Drive, with Weber listed as the contact for the event.
What Is Planned for Omni Sportsplex?
