Hayden Grove Northline is moving toward construction in Leander, bringing plans for a $50 million senior living community into the city’s emerging downtown district. The planned 234-unit development would add independent living, assisted living and memory care to Northline’s growing mix of homes, shops and gathering places.
Planned for 461 John Webster Street, the community represents a substantial residential addition to a district often discussed for its new restaurants and retail. For older adults and their families, the project would introduce three distinct living and care options within the same development.
Hayden Grove Northline Plans Three Types of Senior Living
Developer Verdot Capital identifies Hayden Grove Northline as a 234-unit community in development. Its planned mix includes independent living, assisted living and memory care, rather than a single type of senior housing.
That range is an important part of the proposal. Independent living and assisted living serve different residential needs, while memory care adds a separate care component. The available project details do not establish how the 234 units will be divided among those categories.
The interior rendering offers an early look at the residential design envisioned for Hayden Grove Northline, with warm wood finishes, broad windows and shared gathering space. It is a planned design image, not a photograph of a completed community.

A New Residential Piece of Leander’s Downtown District
Northline is taking shape as a roughly 116-acre mixed-use district, combining residential development with restaurants, retail, offices, civic uses and public spaces. Transit access is also part of its appeal as a new downtown destination for Leander.
The Northline site plan identifies a future senior living component along John Webster Street. That places the planned community within the larger district’s street network, rather than as a standalone project disconnected from the surrounding development.
TCM has already followed other pieces of Northline, including America’s Best plans for new retail space and Oak & Stone’s restaurant plans. Hayden Grove Northline adds another dimension to that story: housing and care for older adults alongside the district’s commercial growth.

Hayden Grove Northline Construction Could Run Into 2028
The newly registered construction scope covers approximately 324,500 square feet and carries a $50 million construction value. Work is currently scheduled to begin in November 2026 and continue through November 2028.
That schedule describes the planned construction period. It is not an announced opening date, and the timing remains subject to change as the project moves forward.
For Northline, the scale makes Hayden Grove a significant addition to the residential side of the district. Its 234 planned units would bring a dedicated senior living community into an area being built around a broader mix of everyday destinations.
Part of a Wider Central Texas Pipeline
Hayden Grove Northline is also part of Verdot Capital’s broader Central Texas senior living pipeline, which includes Hayden Grove projects in Cedar Park and Pflugerville. Those projects provide context for the developer’s regional plans, while Leander’s community has its own address, scale and construction schedule.
The local significance is the combination of location and choice. As Northline develops into a downtown destination, Hayden Grove would add independent living, assisted living and memory care to the types of places people can call home in the district.
