Oysters, martinis and a new chapter for a long-vacant Broadway property are coming together in Alamo Heights. Hudson House Alamo Heights plans identify the Dallas-born restaurant at 5307 Broadway, inside the redevelopment of the former Nix Health property.
The project appears to mark Hudson House’s first San Antonio-area restaurant. The company’s current official location directory lists restaurants in North Texas and Houston, with no existing San Antonio-area location.
Its arrival also puts a name to part of a bigger local development story. Earlier plans envisioned two restaurants at the property, including an East Coast-inspired oyster-and-martini concept. Hudson House fits that description, though the earlier unnamed concept has not been definitively linked to the brand.

Hudson House Alamo Heights Adds a Name to Broadway’s Redevelopment
The former Nix Health property is being repositioned with restaurants on the first floor and offices above. Earlier project records described roughly 30,000 square feet of broader building redevelopment, backed by millions of dollars in investment and an economic-development agreement involving the City of Alamo Heights.
For Broadway, the significance is the return of activity to an existing building. A property that had sat vacant is moving toward a mix of dining and office uses, with a restaurant concept that could give people a new reason to visit beyond the workday.
The Hudson House Alamo Heights filing covers a 6,510-square-foot interior tenant remodel. That restaurant space is one component of the larger transformation, rather than the full extent of the building’s redevelopment.
Oysters and Martinis Fit the Earlier Vision
Hudson House’s East Coast-inspired identity makes the connection to the earlier restaurant description especially interesting. Oysters and martinis are central to the concept, pairing a raw-bar experience with a cocktail-focused dining atmosphere.
The company’s Highland Park menu offers a useful taste of its style: East Coast oysters and a New England-style lobster roll share space with a double-patty cheeseburger. It is an approach that leaves room for both a seafood outing and a more familiar comfort-food order.
Those details explain why Hudson House Alamo Heights fits the oyster-and-martini vision previously outlined for 5307 Broadway. The new filing establishes the brand at this address; it does not, by itself, prove that Hudson House was the operator behind the earlier unnamed description.
Two Restaurant Spaces, With Another Concept Still to Watch
Earlier redevelopment plans called for two restaurants. Hudson House now provides a specific name to follow, while the other concept remains another piece of the property’s future to watch. The available information does not establish that restaurant’s operator.
TCM has also tracked Hudson House’s planned expansion in Houston’s Memorial area. Here, the local appeal is different: the brand would enter the San Antonio market through the reuse of a prominent Alamo Heights property.
Hudson House Alamo Heights Work Is Scheduled Into 2027
The restaurant’s registered construction value is $1,675,250, with work currently scheduled from November 2026 through April 2027. That amount applies to the restaurant remodel and should not be treated as the total investment in the broader redevelopment.
The construction completion estimate is not an announced opening date. Hudson House’s arrival will depend on the restaurant buildout and the steps needed to welcome diners.
For Alamo Heights, the emerging picture is an existing Broadway building returning to use with offices upstairs and dining below. Hudson House brings a recognizable restaurant identity to that plan—and the prospect of oysters and martinis to a property awaiting its next chapter.
