Jersey Mike’s Katy plans are moving forward at Texas Heritage Marketplace, where a new sandwich shop is preparing to join the mix of restaurants and retailers taking shape in west Katy.
The restaurant is planned for 1552 Heritage Oak Lane, Suite 130. For shoppers and nearby residents, it would add another familiar lunch option inside a development designed to bring major stores, smaller shops and dining together.
Jersey Mike’s already operates multiple Katy-area restaurants. This project represents a new planned address for the brand, while the available filing leaves the future of existing locations unspecified.
Jersey Mike’s Katy Plans Add a Lunch Stop
The appeal starts with the sandwich counter. Jersey Mike’s official menu offers cold subs and hot subs, giving customers a choice between a deli-style lunch and a warm sandwich such as a cheesesteak.
That makes the restaurant a natural fit for a shopping trip: somewhere to pause for lunch or pick up a meal on the way home. Within Texas Heritage Marketplace, the sandwich shop would bring a quick-service option to a development with room for longer sit-down meals, too.
The planned 1,400-square-foot space will be a first-generation restaurant finish-out. In everyday terms, the work will turn a new retail space into a functioning restaurant, with a kitchen, interior walls and the building systems needed to serve customers.
A Small Shop Within a Much Larger Marketplace
Developer NewQuest describes Texas Heritage Marketplace as a 750,000-square-foot-plus mixed-use retail destination under construction at the southeast corner of I-10 and Texas Heritage Parkway.
NewQuest positions the project to serve west Katy’s expanding communities, including Cane Island, Firethorne and Jordan Ranch. The development places shopping and dining closer to those neighborhoods, while its highway location gives it a wider reach.
The site plan puts the Jersey Mike’s Katy restaurant in a row of smaller spaces within the marketplace’s dining area. The same image shows larger retail anchors such as Target and Academy Sports + Outdoors, along with restaurant names including Tony C’s and Biscuit Belly.
The contrast helps explain why a 1,400-square-foot sandwich shop matters here. The anchors can draw shoppers from across the area, while smaller food businesses give them reasons to stop, eat and return between larger shopping trips.
From Planned Tenant to Restaurant Build-Out
The Jersey Mike’s Katy project appears on the marketplace plan, and the new restaurant filing adds a specific construction scope and schedule. It is another step toward turning a planned tenant name into an operating business, though it does not establish that work has started.
The registered construction value is $300,000. Plans include new kitchen equipment, interior walls, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing work within the restaurant space.
