Keller Texas Construction: Districts, Redevelopment and Projects

Keller Texas construction includes a sustained effort to improve Old Town’s streets and public spaces while retaining its smaller commercial blocks. East of Main Street, the city’s Old Town Keller Phase II program covers the area between Keller Parkway and Bear Creek Parkway. Bates Street reconstruction and Bates Street Park are complete, while South Elm Street reconstruction began in March 2025 and is scheduled to continue into summer 2028. Those investments put street access and gathering places at the center of the district’s next stage.

Town Center gives Keller a different development setting, bringing civic facilities and commercial activity close to substantial public open space. Keller Town Hall stands on Bear Creek Parkway beside the 102-acre Parks at Town Center, which includes two lakes, trails, wildflower meadows and a playground. That combination makes connections between buildings, paths and outdoor amenities especially relevant here. Improvements in this part of Keller can affect both the businesses people visit and the public spaces they use between trips.

Along Keller Parkway, the construction story includes changes to established shopping centers and restaurant sites. At Rufe Snow Drive, Keller Town Center’s commercial properties illustrate how an existing retail district can evolve through renovations, tenant improvements and revised site layouts. A 2024 city agenda item for the Chick-fil-A at 1002 Keller Parkway, for example, concerned a site-plan amendment for an existing restaurant. These smaller changes deserve attention alongside new buildings because entrances, circulation and the reuse of commercial space shape how the corridor works day to day.

Keller’s residential character also sets it apart from faster-expanding parts of the Metroplex. The Census Bureau estimates 46,078 residents in July 2025, a 0.7% increase from the April 2020 estimates base, while its 2020–2024 survey reports an 83.5% homeownership rate. In that established setting, the relationship between a proposed use and its neighboring homes matters. Keller’s Planning & Zoning division reviews building use, location, design and materials, making individual site decisions an important part of understanding local development.
