A new Dollar Tree Potranco location is planned for 14925 Potranco Road, adding another everyday shopping option along San Antonio’s busy western corridor. The appeal is familiar: party supplies for the weekend, a few household essentials and seasonal finds that were not on the original shopping list.
This stretch of Potranco already supports a mix of shopping and services, with more retail space in the pipeline. Dollar Tree’s proposed store adds a practical destination to that expanding lineup, built around the small purchases that bring people back between larger shopping trips.
Dollar Tree Potranco Shoppers Have Plenty to Browse
The retailer’s local store information outlines a broad selection: cleaning and storage products, kitchen and dining supplies, food and candy, health and beauty items, and school and office essentials. Party supplies and arts and crafts add another reason to browse.
For a birthday gathering, that can mean coordinating cups, plates, decorations and favors. For a classroom or home project, the shopping list might start with poster board, pens and craft supplies. A kitchen cleanup or a storage refresh brings a different set of aisles into play.
Seasonal merchandise gives the store another rhythm throughout the year. Holiday decorating and small celebrations can turn a routine errand into a search for something fun. Selection varies by location and season, so these categories describe the brand rather than a confirmed inventory for the future store.

More Retail Takes Shape Along Potranco
One clear example of the corridor’s continued investment is Potranco Center Phase II. Fulcrum Development markets the project at Potranco and Talley roads as a coming retail addition. Its existing Potranco Center at 12991 Potranco Road also offers retail space and a pad site.
Fulcrum describes the surrounding market as one of northwest San Antonio’s highest-growth areas. Its Phase II listing reports 47,223 residents and 14,038 households within three miles of that center. Those marketing figures describe the Talley-area trade area, not the proposed Dollar Tree site, but help illustrate the customer base along the corridor.
The existing center and its planned second phase provide a concrete example of retail development continuing along Potranco. For residents, that growth means a broader collection of places to combine everyday errands. The new Dollar Tree proposal represents a separate project farther along the same road.
Another Address for a Familiar Retailer
Dollar Tree already lists a store at 12922 Potranco Road, Suite 120, as well as its 9739 Potranco Road location. The planned 14925 address is distinct from those existing listings. This story concerns an additional proposed location, not the brand’s arrival on Potranco for the first time.
The chain’s history began with five Only $1.00 stores in 1986. Its early locations operated alongside a toy-store business before the company focused on expanding its dollar-store concept. That small beginning grew into a familiar name for household basics and inexpensive extras.
The selection has evolved, too. The company introduced Dollar Tree Plus offerings at selected stores in 2019, adding $3 and $5 merchandise. That history is a reminder that the name does not mean every item costs one dollar. The exact pricing mix for the planned Potranco store has not been announced.
Dollar Tree Potranco Project Timeline
The state project filing lists 11,010 square feet of new construction at an estimated cost of $2,310,720. Its projected construction schedule runs from April 1 through June 15, 2027. Those dates are construction estimates; a confirmed opening date has not been identified.
For Potranco shoppers, the larger story is another place to handle the little purchases that fill a week. Household supplies, party preparations and seasonal browsing fit naturally into a corridor steadily adding retail choices.
