FUNBOX plans a 20,000-square-foot indoor inflatable park at 1457 Spring Cypress Road in Spring’s Northland Shopping Center. A state filing lists a $430,000 renovation, with construction scheduled to begin October 12, 2026, and finish January 15, 2027. That completion target is not a confirmed opening date.
The project will convert an existing tenant suite into an indoor play destination. LH2 Architecture is listed as the design firm, and Northland Joint Venture is the property owner.
FUNBOX brings indoor bouncing to Northland Shopping Center
The location already has a leasing announcement behind it. Community Impact reported in June 2026 that RESOLUT RE representatives confirmed a 19,950-square-foot lease at Northland. The construction filing rounds the project area to 20,000 square feet.
Although the filing labels the city as Cypress, the announced shopping center location is in Spring. The new park will add another Houston-area option alongside the existing facility on FM 529.
What families can expect from FUNBOX
The company’s indoor concept connects inflatable play zones into a large bouncing playground. Its existing Houston park lists attractions such as Marshmallow Mountain, Gumball Gallop, a Battle Beam, Ninja Wall, obstacle course and 23-foot slide. Adults can join the bouncing, too.
That park also offers birthday bookings, making the concept a place for both weekend outings and celebrations. Spring’s exact attraction lineup, party packages and admission prices have not been announced, so the Houston offerings provide a preview of the concept rather than a final list for this location.
A family story behind the bounce
FUNBOX began in Southern California, where founder Antonio Nieves drew inspiration from his own childhood. According to the company’s account of its beginnings, he grew up in the foster care system with nine younger siblings. Those experiences shaped his interest in creating places where children and families could spend joyful time together.
That mission extends beyond the attractions. The company invites foster-care organizations to contact its team about free private sessions for foster children and their families.
There is a Texas connection to that work: FUNBOX’s charity page lists Credence Village in Katy among the organizations it supports. A partnership specific to the future Spring location has not been announced.
For Northland Shopping Center, the planned buildout will turn a retail suite into a destination for active indoor play. Families will have to wait for the opening announcement before putting a first visit on the calendar.
