Jersey Mike’s Plans a Delicious New Stop in Tomball

Jersey Mike’s is planning a new Tomball stop for piled-high subs, tangy Mike’s Way toppings, and cheesesteaks covered in melted cheese. The upcoming restaurant will occupy 20042 Cypress Rosehill Road, Suite 350, at Rose Hill Town Center. For nearby sandwich fans, that means a new lunch option to watch—and a good excuse to start debating cold Italian versus hot Philly.

The appeal starts at the counter, where meats and cheeses meet freshly baked bread. Then come the crisp vegetables, the dressing, and that first bite with a little of everything. It is the kind of lunch that calls for an extra napkin.

Jersey Mike’s Makes It Mike’s Way

At Jersey Mike’s, cold subs put the slicing front and center. Meats and cheeses go onto bread baked in the store, with the sandwich prepared in front of the customer. Meanwhile, ordering Mike’s Way adds onions, lettuce, tomatoes, oil, vinegar, and spices.

That combination brings crunch, tang, and seasoning to the same bite. Instead of letting the meat and cheese do all the work, the toppings give the sandwich another layer of flavor. Plus, the made-to-order approach lets customers settle into a favorite combination.

For example, the No. 13 Original Italian stacks provolone with ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami, and pepperoni. Add the vegetables and dressing, and the result is a hearty mix of savory deli meats and bright, crisp toppings.

Bring On the Hot Cheesesteaks

However, the grill gives cold subs some serious competition. The No. 17 Mike’s Famous Philly comes with grilled onions, peppers, and white American cheese. Jersey Mike’s grills it fresh to order, making it an appealing choice when lunch needs something hot and filling.

Meanwhile, the No. 43 Chipotle Cheese Steak adds chipotle mayo to that onion, pepper, and cheese combination. The creamy kick gives fans another way to take their cheesesteak beyond the classic order.

Picture the cheese melting into the steak, the grilled vegetables tucked into the bread, and the wrapper catching whatever escapes. Suddenly, a quick sandwich run sounds like the best part of the afternoon.

How Jersey Mike’s Started at the Shore

The story began in 1956 with Mike’s Subs in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. According to the company’s history, Peter Cancro started working there at 14. Then, at 17, he bought the shop with help from his football coach, who also worked in banking.

That teenage purchase became the foundation for a much larger business. In 1987, Cancro began franchising and changed the name to reflect its New Jersey roots. Even as the company expanded, the counter experience and familiar sub combinations remained central to its identity.

A New Sandwich Stop for Cypress Rosehill

For this Jersey Mike’s project, the local story centers on Rose Hill Town Center. The planned restaurant will finish out a previously unfinished retail space, adding another food option along Cypress Rosehill Road. It gives nearby residents a future stop to keep in mind for lunch breaks and easy dinner pickups.

The state project registration lists a 1,530-square-foot restaurant and an estimated $300,000 finish-out. Construction is scheduled for September 28 through October 26, 2026, including kitchen equipment and interior work. However, those are construction estimates; an opening date has not been confirmed.

Until then, the toughest decision can wait: a loaded Italian finished Mike’s Way, or a hot cheesesteak with all that melted cheese? Either way, Tomball has another sandwich destination on the horizon.
