Mansfield pizza fans may soon have twice as many chances to answer one of life’s easier questions: how many slices is too many slices?
Cicis Pizza is planning a new restaurant at 1499 US Highway 287 North, Suite 115, inside Mansfield Pointe. The $375,000 project calls for a 4,436-square-foot second-generation buildout for the brand’s familiar all-you-can-eat pizza buffet, with construction scheduled from September 24 through December 18, 2026.
And this isn’t Cicis introducing itself to Mansfield. The company already operates a restaurant at 960 N. Walnut Creek Drive, which means the Mansfield Pointe project would give the city a second Cicis location.
More buffet, more cinnamon rolls, more Mansfield
Cicis has built its identity around the kind of meal where choosing one pizza is completely unnecessary. Its buffet mixes classic and specialty pizzas with pasta, salad, sides and desserts — including those warm cinnamon rolls that have probably ended more than a few promises about being “done after this plate.”
According to Cicis, guests can load up on unlimited pizza, sides, salads and desserts, and if a favorite pizza isn’t sitting on the buffet, the restaurant will make one. The current Mansfield-Walnut Creek restaurant also advertises a game room, keeping the brand squarely in the family-night, team-party and “feed everybody without ordering six different meals” lane.
A Texas pizza buffet that started in Plano
There’s a Texas connection here, too. Cicis opened its first restaurant in Plano in 1985, building its name around an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet before expanding far beyond North Texas. More than four decades later, the company still leans hard into the same formula: pizza, pasta, salad, dessert and a family-friendly experience built around going back for another plate.
The brand’s official location directory currently lists 134 restaurants in Texas, including the existing Mansfield location. The new Mansfield Pointe restaurant would deepen those North Texas roots rather than mark a first arrival in the city.
Cicis takes over a familiar Mansfield Pointe suite
The address adds another local wrinkle. Mansfield Pointe’s current directory lists Mattress Firm at 1499 Highway 287 North, Suite 115, the same suite identified in the Cicis construction filing. With the project described as a second-generation tenant finish-out, the space is now positioned for a very different use — swapping mattresses for pizza ovens, buffet lines and stacks of plates.
For Mansfield, that means another familiar Texas-born restaurant brand joining the US 287 shopping corridor — and another place where “I’ll just grab two slices” can turn into pizza, pasta, salad, brownies and a cinnamon roll before anyone admits what happened.
