Grand Prairie is getting another spot for tacos around the clock.
Tacos El 24 is preparing a new restaurant at 901 E. Main Street, where the Mexican restaurant will take over a former Church’s Chicken location.
The project calls for a $175,000 renovation of the existing 1,496-square-foot building. Construction is currently scheduled to begin September 15, 2026, with completion targeted for November 15, 2026.
Rather than building from the ground up, crews will remodel the closed fast-food restaurant and transform the space for Tacos El 24.
Tacos El 24 Continues Growing in Grand Prairie
The East Main Street restaurant will give Tacos El 24 a second location in Grand Prairie.
The company already operates at 3824 S. Carrier Parkway, along with three locations in Arlington and another along Stemmons Freeway in Dallas.
Tacos El 24 has built its concept around street-style Mexican food served 24 hours a day. Its menu includes tacos, birria, breakfast burritos, tortas, quesadillas and loaded fries. Some of its more distinctive offerings include birria ramen, quesabirria pizza and a Hot Cheetos and cheese burrito.
The restaurants also serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, giving customers an option well beyond traditional restaurant hours.
Former Church’s Chicken Gets a New Life
The project will also bring new activity to a closed restaurant property along East Main Street.
Instead of leaving the former Church’s Chicken vacant, Tacos El 24 plans to reuse the existing building and give the property a completely new identity.
Construction is expected to wrap up in November. However, an official opening date has not yet been announced.
Once open, the East Main Street restaurant will expand Tacos El 24’s presence in Grand Prairie while bringing another 24-hour dining option to the city.
