Atascocita’s growing restaurant lineup is about to get a little hotter.
Dave’s Hot Chicken is coming to The Market at The Groves, bringing the popular hot chicken chain to the growing commercial development along Woodland Hills Drive.
The new restaurant will occupy approximately 2,500 square feet at 15936 Woodland Hills Drive, Suite 400, according to construction records filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The project carries an estimated construction cost of $500,000.
And this won’t be a remodel of an existing restaurant.
Dave’s will be the first tenant to occupy the space, giving the company a fresh buildout as The Market at The Groves continues filling with restaurants, retailers and services.
Construction is already moving forward
The Dave’s Hot Chicken project has reached Review Complete status.
Plans call for a first-generation tenant buildout, with construction scheduled from July 31 through October 31, 2026.
That October date isn’t necessarily the restaurant’s opening day, but we do have a better idea of when customers could begin lining up.
Harris County MUD 504 currently lists Dave’s Hot Chicken as “Coming Soon” with an estimated opening during the fourth quarter of 2026. The district notes that opening timelines are estimates and remain subject to change.
So, if everything stays on schedule, Atascocita could be eating Dave’s before the end of the year.
Dave’s joins a growing lineup at The Market at The Groves
The restaurant isn’t arriving at an empty shopping center.
The Market at The Groves sits along Woodland Hills Drive and Madera Run Parkway, next to the H-E-B serving The Groves area.
Several familiar names are already open.
Harris County MUD 504 currently lists Chipotle, Whataburger, Dunkin’, Saigon Café, Iza Robata, Pacific Dental, Tiger Kim Taekwondo, Southern Veterinary Partners and Chase Bank among businesses operating within the development.
And Dave’s isn’t the only business still on the way.
The district’s current development list also includes Batters & Brunch, Donatos Pizza, Panda Express and PNC Bank, among several other upcoming businesses.
That makes Dave’s another piece of a commercial district that’s quickly becoming a dining and retail hub for this part of Atascocita.
Hundreds of apartments are part of the development too
There’s also a residential component sitting right alongside all of that commercial growth.
The development site plan identifies The Glade, a luxury multifamily community containing 336 units on approximately 14 acres.
That places hundreds of residences within the same larger development as H-E-B and the expanding restaurant and retail lineup.
The site plan also shows additional commercial space still available, meaning The Market at The Groves isn’t finished growing yet.
It’s a noticeable transformation for a stretch of Woodland Hills Drive that has steadily added businesses as residential development surrounding The Groves has expanded.
So, how hot is Dave’s?
Pretty freaking hot — if you want it to be.
Dave’s Hot Chicken built its menu around chicken tenders and sliders served at seven different heat levels, ranging from no spice all the way to its infamous Reaper level.
And yes, customers attempting Reaper have to sign a waiver. 😂🔥
The menu also includes fries, macaroni and cheese, kale slaw, milkshakes and other sides and drinks.
That relatively simple menu helped Dave’s grow from a small Los Angeles hot chicken operation into a rapidly expanding restaurant chain with locations across the country.
Now, Atascocita is next.
What’s next for Dave’s Hot Chicken?
Construction is scheduled to continue through the end of October, while Harris County MUD 504 currently estimates a fourth-quarter 2026 opening.
The official construction filing uses a Humble mailing address for the property, while The Market at The Groves is identified locally as part of the Atascocita area.
Once it opens, Dave’s will join an increasingly crowded food lineup surrounding H-E-B and the hundreds of new residences nearby.
And with additional restaurant spaces and commercial pads still available throughout the development, there’s likely more to come.
